Log Cabin Republicans Huntsville was founded in July 2024 by Andy Blalock, our current President, and his husband, Colton Bullard, who now serves as Vice President. What began as a simple idea, that there are many LGB conservatives and conservative straight allies in North Alabama, quickly became a movement. United by our shared values of limited government, lower taxes, individual liberty, and the importance of strong families, we created this chapter to give voice and visibility to a growing yet often overlooked segment of the conservative movement. As Huntsville becomes increasingly purple, Andy and Colton recognized the urgent need to establish a strong conservative base that reflects the diverse voices within the Republican Party and reinforces the values that built our great state. Together, we can work to strengthen our community, protect our freedoms, support President Trump’s America First agenda, and ensure that Huntsville and the surrounding areas remain a stronghold for Republican voters for years to come.

The mission of Log Cabin Republicans of Huntsville is to build a chapter of LGB individuals and straight allies who support conservative principles and advocate for the protection of our constitutional republic. We offer our members monthly social events for networking and community building. Volunteers will work to promote equality, safeguard Second Amendment rights, advocate for limited government, and uphold other values outlined by our national chapter.

Unfortunately, the radical left has continued to erode the foundation of women’s rights by promoting policies that allow biological men who identify as transgender to enter women’s restrooms, compete in women’s sports, and claim awards and accolades meant for female athletes. These actions are not only unfair, they are immoral and dangerous. Our goal for 2025-2026 is to stand firmly against these ideologies and defend the rights and dignity of women across Alabama. We are proud to partner with Moms for Liberty Alabama and other like-minded organizations to advocate for the Gender Ideology Bill, which aims to remove sexually inappropriate and ideological content from school libraries and make it illegal to teach LGBTQIA+ ideologies in classrooms. We believe education should be a safe and neutral space where all students can learn, grow, and express themselves without being conditioned by adult agendas. By supporting this bill, we are standing up for students, families, and the fundamental right of parents to have a voice in their children’s education.
